thankful.

Since we moved to Logan, UT I've had a much harder time getting acquainted than I thought I would.  I knew it would be hard leaving a job I loved, wonderful friends we made along the way, the start of "The Eversons" (with just the two of us and then the three of us), and life we built for ourselves on our own.
Lately, to turn around my sometimes pessimism, Eric and I share our favorite moments of the day.  So I'm going to share some of my favorite things, that I just so happen to be very thankful for.
(this little guy ^)
short drives to Eagle
mountains covered with snow
a loving husband
Christmas trees, with lights and ornaments, of course
a little tooth that is finally popping through for Deacon
text messages
camera
the sounds of "mamamamaa" coming from Deacon (I like to think he's saying, Mama)
random phone calls from family and friends
Deacon's Amuma and Ichecha
friends
starbucks, especially the seasonal drinks in the red holiday cup
blankets and warm place to sleep
uggs
Deacon's laugh and smile
milk
homemade baby food
hugs
reliable cars
short drives to work (for Eric)
teaching
Deacon's Grandma and Grandpa
wet baby kisses
a hand to hold
the today show (I feel like I am more informed now than I ever have been before)
the opportunity to spend this year at home with Deacon
homemade meals
the blogging world
health
I need to remind myself that there are so many things to be thankful for everyday, not just around Thanksgiving, and to embrace the moments I have right now.

love him.

*Today's post was inspired by a blog I follow, thanks Rockstar Diaries for encouraging to embrace today.

Do you PINTEREST? Check out my projects.

I've officially turned into crafty mom.  By no means am I the best or even great, but I have had so much fun finding different projects to complete for Christmas.  Check out my first projects...and if you haven't joined pinterest...stop everything and do it now...well, after you finish checking out my projects.  (;

Deacon's alphabet (I made one other but I can't show in case she's reading).  This is the very first thing I've ever sewn in my life...I think there's a good chance the stitches may come undone.

The winter wreath is probably my favorite completed project so far.  I basically did exactly what I found on pinterest, but I also made two others.  The one for my mom is green and brown ornaments with the same color yarn as above (minus the grey) and the other, for Diane, is all red yarn with silver ornaments.  I'll see if I can track down some pictures to show.

Yarn covered bottles...the only thing I have left to do is find the flowers I want to display in them.

Yarn covered wood letter.  I decided to cover wood letters with yarn using Deacon's initials...luckily if I want to do his whole name later on, I already have three letters completed.
Inspired by (well it turns out I can't find this one)

I'm so excited to go home this weekend and do some more projects with my mom.
On the list:
Tree Garland
Felt Ornaments
Cushion for Deacon's highchair
"Thanks" vases made from wine bottles (if there's time...there's always time, right?)

I'll share the final products when completed and my inspiration!

deacon's first BSU football game

A couple of weeks ago Amuma and Ichecha scored us some BSU football tickets against Air Force.  We couldn't pass up the chance to take Deacon to his first football game.  Eric and Ichecha headed down to the tailgate around 8:30, while Amuma and I made sure Deacon had a full belly and a good nap.  We wanted to make sure he was completely prepared for his big game day.  We made our way down around 10:30 (kick off @ 1:30) and found ourselves at a giant tailgate with lots of food and people.  We bought Deacon some sound proof headphones so he will still have his hearing at 7 months.  Deacon did awesome!  He spent the first half bundled up against my chest with his headphones in his ergo.  He spent the second half with his Auntie Beth and Uncle Ryan at the tailgate...happy as can be.  So I'd say first football game not only gets a check, but a success!

a bronco family is a happy family, especially when they win!  we can't wait for our next game...i think we will be going to the thanksgiving weekend game tailgate...not sure about the game yet.

*sidenote...if you have friends that are expecting a baby and they are sports lovers, baby headphones make an excellent gift!
